Countrywide runs ads in our local papers and billboards claiming that when others have turned you down, they will work with you even with less than perfect credit to get you into a home of your own. I broke down and called them one day and the woman was really nice until I mentioned that I am disabled and my only income is SSI. Her demeanor immediately changed and she said that they didn't work with people who have such low incomes and hung up on me! She could have been a lot nicer to me. I thought from reading their ads that they really would work with someone in my situation.
It also defrauded us of $4,500 for the glass shower enclosure and has failed to return our $750 grading deposit. Extremely bad experience
The holiday park industry is unregulated and some park owners take advantage of that, like this one. Dont risk your hard-earned money and make sure you do your research and due diligence and either buy into something you know really well or that is regulated so you have redress if necessary. They may be known by the name at the top of this review page, but also known as Exclusive Luxury Lodges, Baslow Holdings or by any of their holiday park names or their residential park names . Owned by Anthony Barney and Donna Barney. These costs, combined with the deduction of 50% commission from rental income, will leave you substantially out of pocket. If you plan to sell, you must do so through CPH and they will deduct 15% commission from the sale price.
I did have some minor problems though, which they looked after in a timely manner. The service after sale is always very important, which they are great at it. There will be always some problems, but when they look after, that is really matter. On acquiring the business from administration they offered quarterly site fee payments to owners who requested this option having suffered heavy financial losses following the collapse of the previous owners Dream Lodge. Should you wish to sell your holiday home countrywide insist you sell through their appointed agent & will charge 15% commission for the privilege.
Great service - everything went like clockwork
My son rented a shared house via Countrywide's "Finder Keepers" brand for his second year at university. He dropped out and didn't actually stay in the property and yet they have retained 53% of his deposit for alleged damage. They also retained 45% on average of his co-tenants deposits. Stephanie negotiated with me for my deposit.

Their business practices were horrible. They lost paperwork, never let you speak with the same person to get anything done, and practiced what I believed to me illegal lending practices. You could never get the same answer from anyone. I was never so glad as to get away from this company. My contract with them was reviewed by a real estate attorney and found to have several clauses that were NOT legal.

Avoid because once they have your payments set up you will never be able to speak to a human being again. I give below an extract from a 2009 debate in the Houses of Parliament regarding Park Home sites managed by the owner of Countrywide Park Homes. Nothing has changed - the respective Governments should be ashamed of themselves. 96% of the reviews given on the Trustpilot site are shown as "bad". It is time that those affected lobby Parliament to ensure that this behaviour is stopped. I went back and spoke to the sales lady Kelley about these reviews, she was honest and open and explained a few situations which now make sense, and I am happy to say I am now a happy park home owner.
The way that she automatically dismissed me was so uncalled for and was so degrading. These mortgage companies give you a glimmer of hope and then snatch it away. I can't imagine anyone ever giving this company a good rating.
Is this your company?
I am near completing a house purchase from a seller who used Countrywide to do the conveyancing. We use dedicated people and clever technology to safeguard our platform. Companies can ask for reviews via automatic invitations. Labeled Verified, they’re about genuine experiences. I should like to remind the House of the names involved. It is important that people should recognise that this is a so-called family organisation.
The Agency Agreement is not a service lead contract, it is based upon the marketing and sale of the property which has taken place. The invoice was payable upon completion, and is still fully payable. My advice, refuse any negotiation and stick to your one communication of writing to request your deposit back within 10 days. If this doesn’t happen start your small claims or mydeposits dispute. Do not waste time negotiating with them they’ll screw you over trying to ware you down to accept unreasonable terms.
We were so excited as the lodge on the website looked amazing, however when we arrived it was a completely different story. Please do not think of having anything to do with this company. Fortunately we got out before they put everything up and got out without to much lose. I feel sorry for the unfortunate owners and the only hope that kalmar will come to the owner. A dishonest company who promise great things but always fail to deliver. They hide a lot of stuff then rush you to sign and you discover later non disclosure specially in depth sizes.

Great to work with those trying to find their dream park homes from our park homes for sale.
